What is Snakey Peeky?

Snakey Peeky is a free browser snake game. You steer a growing snake, eat food, and try not to hit a wall or your own tail. The name is the playstyle: you have to peek ahead a few turns, because one bad corner traps you.

There is no download. Open the site, press Play, and you can start as a guest. Sign in if you want saved progress, Adaptive ranks, campaign climbs, and achievements across devices.

How to play

Food appears on the board as a diamond. Each piece you eat adds length and 10 points. The run ends when your head hits a wall, an obstacle, or any part of your body.

Classic Adaptive

This is the endless mode. Speed increases as your score rises, so late-game runs are tighter than the opening. Signed-in scores can appear on the Adaptive leaderboard. Score 300+ to unlock Campaign. Score 500+ any day of the week to unlock unlimited campaign lives for that Sunday (UTC).

Campaign

Six themed climbs — Classic, Arcade, Meadow, Warp, Maze, and Deep Maze (C1–C6). Each stage has a goal score. Lives scale from 3 in Campaign 1 to 6 in Campaign 6. Stage 3 can spawn a bonus heart if you are missing a life. Opening a new campaign after a clear restores full lives. The weekly climb resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC back to Campaign 1.

Controls

• Move: Arrow keys or WASD.
• Pause: P.
• Restart: R.
• Phone or tablet: turn on on-screen buttons in Settings.

You cannot reverse into yourself in one tap. Queue the next turn a little early so the snake is already committed when you reach a corner.

How to get a higher score

• Stay off the walls until you need them. Hugging the edge early leaves no escape once you are long.
• Sweep in loops instead of cutting through the middle. A clear “lane” around the board is easier to unwind than a knot.
• In Adaptive, treat speed changes as the real difficulty. After each food, glance at the empty space behind you before you chase the next gem.
• In Campaign, play for the stage goal, not a heroic extra bite. A clean clear keeps lives for the next map.
